Ingredients
- 1 can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- to taste black pepper
- to taste salt
- a pinch paprika, for finishing
Directions
- Heat a medium skillet over medium heat until warm, about 2 minutes.
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet and swirl to coat the bottom.
- Once the oil is shimmering, add the drained and rinsed pinto beans to the skillet, stirring gently to combine with the oil.
- Sprinkle in ½ teaspoon of paprika, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, and black pepper to taste. Stir well to evenly coat the beans with the spices, cooking for about 5 minutes until heated through.
- Season with salt to taste, stirring again to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the beans to crisp slightly at the bottom.
- Remove the skillet from heat, and transfer the beans to serving plates. Sprinkle a pinch of paprika over the top for a pop of color and extra flavor.
